時間が作用する記憶の変形と喪失。そこに思いをのせ、やはり経年をもって表現する関美怜の作品群 "fade"は、静止画でありながら映像作品のようにゆっくり潜在意識に沈むようにコマを進めます。そこに確かに存在した証拠として輪郭を残し、画像の変化を許しています。
FADEは、対象の儚さを切り取り提示することを日本古来の漆に作家の気づきから生まれた手法をジュエリーに仕立てた見応えのある展示となっております。
The loss of the memory sometimes occurs from the passing of time. Misato Seki's work "fade", presents an image that also changes with the passing or time at the same time it seems to sink into the subconscious. Like a motion picture, even though it is a still image, it leaves an outline as proof that it certainly existed. Even though the original image has been lost.
'FADE' presents a series of artworks where the technique draws inspiration from the artist's discovery or a new and unconventional use of Japanese lacquer. It is her intent to translate the fragility of the memory into objects.
